Between the Spring and Autumn Equinoxes, 2025, I gave away over 100 artworks made during my 50-year career. Most were framed pieces that had been exhibited multiple times. In exchange, I asked each recipient to live with the work for a while, then send me a digital response to the piece. The response could take any form—a word, a photo, an essay, a poem, a drawing, a video, an animation, an audio file, etc., but it had to be submitted digitally, either as an email attachment or a link.

Recipients also gave me permission to use their responses, in whole or in part, in Aloft…, an ongoing, ever-evolving video project that is publicly screened whenever and wherever an opportunity arises. You can visit the Gallery & Responses to see the artworks that were offered and the responses they received. Fragments of the responses are woven into Aloft… which continues to grow in length, depth, and complexity.
